Introduced by the Malaysian government since October 2011, the Employment Pass (Category II) or the EPII facilitates top foreign graduates of tertiary institutions in Malaysia and young professionals in seeking jobs locally and more work opportunities for foreign students in Malaysia.
Malaysia, who hosts a large number of foreign professionals and undergraduates, wishes to introduce a new diverse and vibrant workforce that could bring about innovation to key sectors and in turn, contribute to the Malaysian economy.
EPII, is applicable to all foreign students who are pursuing degrees, Masters, PHDs and Professional Certificates from all SETARA Tier-5 institutions in Malaysia with an upper second-class honors and above.
- To be eligible, applicants must first have to be hired by a reputable company that is willing to provide them with an employment contract of a minimum of 2 years and a minimum gross salary of RM 2,500 a month.
Companies who hire these professionals and graduates would then have to supply Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) with necessary documentation. TalentCorp will then validate the documents by submitting them to the Malaysian Immigration Department for endorsement. Once approved, an approval letter will be submitted by TalentCorp.
Companies who hire these graduates and professionals have to supply the necessary documentation to Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp).
After TalentCorp validates the documents and gives its approval letter, the documentation will be submitted to the Malaysian Immigration Department for endorsement.
